FAQs for VAT Refund for Non-Resident Tourists

Q1. Can I get a Tax Refund when shopping at UNIQLO Philippines?
Answer: No. Tax Refunds for Tourists are not yet available at UNIQLO Philippines Stores.

Q2. I am a foreign tourist. Do I get tax exemption at the store?
Answer: No. Foreign tourists are not exempt from VAT (Value Added Tax) at the time of purchase.
All customers, including tourists, are required to pay the full price including 12% VAT at the store.

Q3. I heard tourists can get VAT refunds. Why can't I do this now?
Answer: As of the moment, our stores are not yet authorized to handle tax refunds. Customers must pay the full price (including the 12% VAT) in the store.

Q4. Are there any foreigners who can get Tax Exemption at UNIQLO Philippines?
Answer: Tax exemption may apply only to - Foreign Diplomats, Embassies and Consulates and there qualified personnel.

The following documents MUST be presented in the store to avail Tax exemption:
1. Official VAT-exempt Identification Cards or VAT-Exempt Certificates issues by the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
2. Valid ID issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs
